The Barbaro Family has been part of the Viennese exclusive dining scene for over 40 years now. It’s authentic Italian and family owned restaurants have long been a firm fixture on Austria’s and especially Vienna’s, dining and social scene. Numerous restaurants and Bars have counted to the Company “Barbaro Gastronomy”, such as La Ninfea, RieGi, Regina Margherita Vienna, Regina Margherita Graz, Trattoria Martinelli, Barbaro's Restaurant and Sky Bar in the department store Steffl as well as the three-storey "Barbaro" on the Neuer Markt, including Italian Bistro, Italian Bar and Wine Bar.

After many renowned restaurants, the Barbaro family currently owns two jewels in the city center of Vienna called "Pizzeria Regina Margherita" and "Trattoria Martinelli" as well as a catering service called "Barbaro Catering & Wine".

The Barbaro Family and its employees work hard to find the very best ingredients for all of their dishes. Everything is meticulously sourced from producers – both in Italy and around Austria – who share their ethos and take enormous pride in what they do. Most of the Staff is from Italy and trained to have a thorough knowledge of all the dishes they serve, too. The Barbaro Family relies heavily on regional importers in order to keep an eye on the Supply-Chain and its sustainability, particularly noteworthy is the cooperation with Slow Food Austria.  

 

The Barbaro Family has won an array of awards over the years with their Restaurants, including: ‘Best Pizzeria in Vienna’ by the Falstaff Magazine, “Michelin Star” by the Michelin Guide, “Toque” awarded by the Gault Milliau Restaurant Guide and many more. They have great passion for what they do, and take pride in their heritage, authentic Italian food & first-class service.
